Silent Sunday (let the pictures mostly do the talkin’ today…)

Getting on your belly & peering up through a stump at the Mouth of the Huron

Some beach-travelers burned the end of this log to roast hotdogs & marshmallows, perhaps

Roots dangle over cliff

Branches point the way toward blue, blue sea

Ominous sky above the swamp at the Mouth of the Huron

A tree with antennae

A unique view of sky, waves, sand through driftwood

About Kathy

  1. Definitely “A unique view of sky, waves, sand through driftwood,” followed very closely by “Ominous sky …”

    Love it – thank you.

  2. Dawn K says:

We had the same clouds today!

    Love that unique view…

  3. Barb says:

The root picture spoke to me. I like the way that tree is hanging on… It looks cloudy there.

  4. Happy Easter Kath. I just posted a new thing or two on the Line.
    Yours, DP

I too, liked the root tree. That is where I have been for the last three years. It is a stong tree with deep and strong roots, however part of the soil to nurture it has been washed away or my better guess is that it only had half the soil to begin with and could only go so far in its growth. There has to be a way to find that soil to continue the work of the strong and confident tree.

Happy Easter! May the blessings of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ, be with you on this day and always! Alleluia, Alleluia!!

    Kim

  6. So pretty!! Thanks for capturing the world through your unique point of view!!

  7. Barbara says:

Thank you for the images, Kathy. You have a keen eye for art in the natural world. I couldn’t even choose a favorite today!

  8. Trudie says:

I also like that root picture … tells a story.
    Happy Easter

  9. For some reason I hear and feel a breeze while looking at these photos. Smells of a lake shore, too. No words needed.

I’m sure some of you bloggers have heard of Wordless Wednesday…where folks sneak in photos on their blog and don’t say a word. I thought Silent Sunday sounded equally good…but couldn’t help adding those captions! It was a lovely walk on the beach, indeed. Glad to share it with all of you. Kim, by the way, I like how that the exposed tree roots spoke to you. I am wondering if…instead of looking at the roots as having the soil washed away…we might look at it as now the roots are strong and wise and hardened to the wind and unique and resilient and an incredible gift for the world to see and enjoy. Yes?

  11. Tammy McLeod says:

Those photos don’t need words. They were really good for an Easter holiday – Haven’t heard of wordless wednesday but it is a bit easier on the blogger.

    • Kathy says:

Yes, Tammy, it certainly helps when you are feeling silent or can’t think of anything to see. Although that doesn’t happen to me TOO often… I sometimes think, though, that eventually I may run out of words and then this blog will have to be all photos…

  12. Snoopykg1 says:

    Absolutely Kathy…..

  13. Cindy Lou says:

I love them all – the roots and view thru the stump really speak to me. Blessings to you and yours….

  14. Marianne says:

I love the titles you come up with, Kathy. Very creative! Wonderful pictures of nature. I love the beach. Maybe one day I’ll live close to one. For now, it’s great to see your pictures of the shores.

  15. DiamondLil says:

Wow! That last one especially is a doozy, Kathy!

  16. pearlz says:

I really enjoy the shape of the branches.

  17. Kathy says:

Thank you all! I love it when you all stop by. Blessings to all of you…

  18. Jessica says:

Looks like a nice beach day. We went to Lake Michigan on Sunday. I will give you a hint, it is scheduled to be on my blog tomorrow. I took advantage of Blogger’s scheduling option and typed it up on Sunday after we got home. LOL

    • Kathy says:

That’s cool that Blogger gives you the “scheduling option”, Jessica. Then you’re ahead of the blogging game! Glad you were able to spend time on one of the Great Lakes!

  19. beautiful photos, so glad I stopped by. The last one is my favorite.

Thank you for reading. May you be blessed in your life...may you find joy in the simple things...
