Miracle
Think of our brothers and sisters tonight.
Think of our brothers and sisters who are hurting.
Think of those who are praying for a miracle.
I think of stories I have heard recently.
One story this afternoon via Facebook: a niece of a friend in a head-on collision. In surgery. The family prays. The mother and father drive to be with the daughter at the hospital.
Precious life.
Another story today: a husband and wife perhaps ready to divorce. The children devastated at the thought of the separation of their parents. Tears and anger intermingle.
Precious life, so confused. So hurting.
Another story: a mother near death. She’s lived a long full life. Yet the family gathers around her, praying for…praying for…something to end the pain of already missing her.
Precious life.
My friend lost her grandson a couple of weekends ago. A nineteen year old shot during a party. We talked on the phone this week. What do you say to a grandmother hurting so badly she doesn’t know what to do next? What do you say?
Precious life.
Everywhere we turn, at times, we hear weeping. We hear hearts weeping in prayer, in sadness. We hear things not working out. We see the blood of wars, of senseless death, of expected death, of suffering.
I pray for a miracle for those who suffer tonight.
May you be healed. May your loved ones be healed. May the sun shine bright again in your heart. May the bluebirds sing and fly across the shadow of your pain, resurrecting that which seemed so hopeless once upon a time.
Precious life.

I also want to give thanks my mom is ok. The did not answer for 4 days. I finally got my brother to have his wife check on her. She was found on her coputer…Praise God…

quite alert, having lost both arms and both legs……
My aches and pains seem so very very very very very small when I
think of him….and the others you mention….

Just . . . listen.
Or if I’m quiet, hush.
Wait with me in silence.
Let me be.
Sit here beside me for a bit.
Take my heart onto your lap.
I am weary from the weight of it.
Let me breathe.
Come outside and face into the wind.
I have never been in so much trouble before,
but I know the only way out of it is through.
Walk with me a way.

Good morning, friends. Just an update about the girl in surgery after the head-on collision (Michelle’s niece). She is out of surgery and it went well. Prayers are still welcome for her continued healing.

Prayers and blessings to all – for their unique hurts and needs, for peace and understanding, to each what each needs.
So glad the surgery went well. I’m slowly catching up on blogs, so I’m a bit late…but thank you for sharing this post. It’s a reminder that in the midst of all the holiday celebration there are many people, often ourselves, that still carry some overwhelming pain.
We all need to be thankful for what we have…and recognize that it is all so fleeting.
Kathy, these words were/are a miracle to my heart! I was transformed the moment they touched me. opening deeper into the divine heart.

We are praying for a little boy of 3, Adrian who yesterday suffocated on a piece of apple.
On the way to hospital his heart stopped for 15 minutes – the doctors got his heart going again. He was in a coma.
This morning they did a brain scan and they say there is no brain damage and that they are going to do another scan tomorrow morning. He also came out of the coma, but he is still under heavy sedation.
He is the youngest child of members of our Church: Louis and Yolandi Herrewyn.
Please pray for them.

Hi Kathy, Adrian is still in the coma and yesterday the doctors told his parents that they cannot do anything for him.
And today is his mother’s birthday!

Slamdunk, you bring up a good point. These stories can topple us if we’re not grounded. The day I wrote this I was feeling very grounded in my heart…able to love and encompass the stories with deep compassion…rather than being toppled.

Today they took Adrian off the ventilator, he is breathing on his own now and his heartbeat and blood pressure is normal!!
The doctors cannot believe it.
Now we can only pray!!

Hi Kathy, Little Adrian died. The brain damage was too severe. He was buried yesterday. Very sad. Thank you for your prayers!
A teenager here started praying for Adrian and through that he decided not to take his own live. And another life is saved!

Jan, my heart is aching so much right now. Crying…sorry to hear about little Adrian. I had hoped that the miracle of life would open for him and his parents. However, God had other plans…miracles in other places…even with that other teenager. I truly believe that even when we, as humans, cannot see the miracle and can only see and feel grief~~there is another dimension where the perfection shines through. Praying again for his parents. Bless you, as well.

I love your name “From the Pews”…that is a great name. I am so fortunate that words rise so effortlessly. Have been writing since about age eight, so maybe that is why. So often I just sit and allow the inner muses to write whatever they want to say. The photography is still quite new; only about one and a half years. Thank you so much for your kind words. (It’s my birthday today, so these words feel like a birthday present!)
