We have been dreadfully sad since yesterday. My brother, Scot, called at 7:15 a.m.
My mom said, “Oh no,” as the telephone rang at that early hour. She hurried to answer the phone here in Fort Myers Beach.
Two blocks from my parent’s primary home in Yale, Michigan, a man is dead. His schoolteacher wife is hospitalized with at least twenty knife stabs, one which punctured her lungs.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder. The police do not think it’s a random attack. Which makes this sadder than sad. I won’t share any more details, as we don’t have all the facts.
All three of my nieces had the hospitalized schoolteacher as their teacher for two grades.
It’s a small town of 2,000 people. My parents did not know them personally. We can’t stop thinking about this horrific senseless murder.
Yet life goes on, even as our hearts break for this family.
Please quietly enjoy these photographs with us as death brushes close by in our hometown.
😦
Blessings and prayers to everyone…peace.
Deeply saddened by this news… hugs and blessings to you and your family.
All murders are senseless and horrific but they seem so “personal” when they happen close to home and to people in our community. Sad to hear about this. I hope you are all okay and able to enjoy the rest of your precious visit together. Your photos are filled with beauty and peace. Thinking of you and saying some quiet prayers…
Very sorry to hear. I can only imagine the pain.
Oh my goodness, such tragic news. Holding HeartLight.
Thank you all for your kind hearts. Here is a link about the murder from one of the local TV stations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TY9wpW7-2U&feature=channel
Can’t imagine the pain which is being felt by those who knew and loved the family.
How very sad.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures.
The news is so sad, the pictures so lovely. Counterparts.
It’s on the news here quite a lot. Totally sad…for the teacher, for her husband…for her child. I’m sorry this has interrupted your lovely time with your own family. Sometimes life doesn’t make sense.
extremely sad. what a tragedy! my prayers for the family. Oh God, let there be peace in the world!
Again, we appreciate your thoughtful words and prayers. I am sure the family does, too.. Echoing what Sonali said, “Oh God, let there be peace in the world!”
I’m so sorry Kathy. Blessings and also echoing Sonali.
Thank you, Colleen…
My thoughts go out to the family and friends 😦
Such a sad happening. Thank you, Jessica.
