Sorry, readers. My memory is not–how shall we politely say it?–stellar.
I can forget what someone said yesterday. OK, two hours ago.
I can forget what I said two minutes ago.
And–obviously–I can forget what I said five months ago.
I started laughing–with great amusement–after posting yesterday’s blog about replying to comments when I discovered this blog. Gosh, it looks like I wrote THE SAME BLOG TWICE!!
C’mon, now, how many of you scratched your heads and pondered this? How many of you thought, “Hey? Didn’t we respond to this last September? Is she losin’ her mind?”
It’s obviously a Sign. If one writes the same blog TWICE, then something internal is begging you to think about Things.
Therefore, I am going to attempt Something New.
For the near future, I shall not be responding to comments as before. You lovers of responses to comments: I shall send you private love-notes via email as you reply (if and when it seems appropriate). You non-lovers of follow-up comments: I shall send you good vibes and positive energy upon reading your delightful words, but no follow-up chit-chat.
We shall see, after this test run, which approach feels best.
I usually write a blog and then completely forget it. Although certain blogs are filed in prominent mental memory folders. Makes you wonder why we remember certain things and completely forget others…
Has anyone else ever written a blog and then forgotten it? (Kind of like going down the basement and then trying to remember what the heck you wanted down there…)
I will try not to write a blog three times. Although it can not be guaranteed! 🙂
It wasn’t a duplicate post, Kathy. It was you saying how you feel about a previously voiced issue, that’s all. I do it frequently (and also take myself to task for it, if that’s any consolation!) But heck, we’re all human, if we were perfect and never repeated ourselves or needed to say the same thing in different words, we’d be machines.
I thought the blog sounded a little familiar, but this wasn’t exactly the same. This seemed more focused on how you’ll decide to handle comment responses.
I’m behind again…but I saw the title of the blog about comments and I thought…that sounds familiar…didn’t we have a discussion about whether or not to reply to comments? Then I thought…well regardless, it’s Kathy, so it will be entertaining. And here another day has gone by and I STILL haven’t read the new (old) blog yet! 🙂
And yes I’m pretty sure we saw those two beauties dressed in pink on a previous day. 🙂
Since I’m relatively new to your blog, it’s all new to me.
Yes I have delved back a but but not as far back as September yet. The discussion on comments and responses has actually been rather enlightening and there’s no reason why you can’t try out email responses and see if it works for you. If it doesn’t you switch to something else, no big deal.
Finding that you are comfortable with is all part of being the blogger you are.
Aww, come on, good things come in threes! 😉
That’s too funny, because when I post pictures on my blog, I think…. “did I take pictures of that before and post them???” This especially happens at Christmas time, with my Christmas ornaments.
I never would have known about your double post, since I just recently found my way over here, but this really made me smile.
Have a wonderful week-end!
There is nothing wrong with doing the same thing over and over, especially if it was good the first time. Kathy, you are only human and the post was good! So…why not?:-)
Kathy – It just means that the topic is weighing on your heart/mind – just begging to be examined from every facet.
Kathy, all I can do is smile at this. And admire your humaness. And my humaness and all of our collective and individual humaness’es. And then apologize for taking so many liberties with the spelling of this delightful word….human 🙂
I did remember that you had posted the question before – I just thought it was still eating at you, making you think about it. Perhaps that’s what it was – nudging you to try making a change. You can always go back to the old way if you choose.
Been there done that.Sat down to write having a thousand and one ideas and I tell myself I’ll only focus on the topic at hand (sorry to write) .Then I’ll be writing away and before you know it I’m not on the topic that I wanted to be and I’ve gone off track I hate it. Ce La Vive say us French people say.
“For many, learning is spiral, where important themes are visited again and again throughout life, each time at a deeper, more penetrating level.”

Perhaps you needed to go deeper this time around… My memory is pretty lame these days. I keep telling Tim, when we’re both struggling to remember something, the more certain I am that I remember something correctly the more often I have it totally wrong. It’s kind of unnerving…
Kathy, three times in the last two weeks I have left work and forgot where I parked my car in the parking garage. The parking garage is twelve stories high. In addition to the floors being numbered each one is named after a country in alphabetical order going up. When you go to the elevator vestibule they are playing a different song associated with the country. Problem is when you have been working six days a week like I have one day runs into another. Today I wrote the floor number on the inside of my forearm under my sweater.
I do remember the “other blog” and it had come to mind when reading the one we are now discussing. I think you are asking something different in the latest blog but I could be wrong!
lol! I did wonder… but I’ve done the same thing myself and really, it’s not the same blog. Same subject, new thoughts. Or going over the old thoughts in another way, maybe. At any rate, I think it happens for the reason you mentioned. It’s a sign that something wants your attention.
I love those photos. 🙂
For newbies to your blog… it’s no problem. Don’t want to miss anything.
Thank you all…for everyone who hasn’t been to the blog party (https://upwoods.wordpress.com/2011/02/28/blog-party-youre-all-invited/)…
I have Fathomed the Message in the Twice-Written Blog.
I am no longer personalizing comments & responses. In other words: I am no longer insisting that the commenter read the response. The response is meant for who reads it–not for the original commenter his-or-herself! This is nirvanna! To realize that it doesn’t have to be personal…
Love how we can learn something new every day. Releasing our old views which no longer serve us.
