Geisel Library on UCSD campus. Named after Dr. Seuss and his wife thanks to their generous university donations.
Still coming to you live from San Diego. Still trying to fit in photo downloading and blog writing in between eating out at fabulous restaurants, touring the UCSD and La Jolla and San Diego and lots of other fascinating places. I really have no leftover energy to be clever or entertaining, so you must be satisfied with pictures on this trip. (Unless, of course, an uncontrollable blog-writing urge hatches in a coffee shop…you never know.)
Today is our last day of touring with Christopher. Tomorrow his fiance, Seunghye, and her parents will arrive from Los Angeles. Sunday morning we’ll be headed back to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, hoping a snowstorm won’t impede our travel.
P.S. Can’t wait to show you the seal photos next! You will like ’em. You can even see the whiskers on one of the harbor seals.
Kathy – Thank you for sharing these photographs, they make it feel like Old Home Week–Whoohoo!
I’ll bet you recognize some of the sights, Laurie!
Hope you kept your feet dry with that tsunami today Kathy.
Enjoy some green eggs and ham for me.
Sybil
We went out to the beach off Coronado Island (on the Pacific side) but didn’t see any tsunami, Sybil. Just lots and lots of fog.
I love the grasses in sunlight. Have a good visit and safe trip home.
I liked how the grasses shined (shone?) in the sunlight, too. Magic… Thanks for your well-wishes, Barb.
Wonderful San Diego. I went there last summer and just loved it. Great pictures. It’s so photgenic there. I really liked Balboa Park. Thanks for sharing your trip!
It is photogenic here, Lynne! Suddenly my world is in color. Kind of like the Wizard of Oz. Glad you are enjoying this.
I can almost feel the warmth in your photos….ahhhhhhh! 🙂
Isn’t it delightful warmth? Today is going to be a bit chillier–in the mid 60s. Figures. I have to wear a skirt today.
Looks wonderful. Don’t see any snow. Sunshine. Sigh….
Dawn, it’s like we’re in the Land of Oz. Instead of black and white…we’re suddenly in a world of color.
Beautiful photos! We only made it as far south as Carlsbad on our CA trip a few years ago, so it’s nice to see San Diego from your photos. The library looks really interesting.
The library looks like a Dr. Seuss creation, indeed. I am glad to be able to show you San Diego.
The Geisel Library has a style of architecture I think Dr. Seuss would appreciate! Love the slice-of-San Diego-life pictures, the fuzzy white grasses in sunlight is stunning!
We thought Dr. Seuss would be smiling at such a creation honoring him. (I like the grasses too…)
