You’ve been expecting this, haven’t you?
You’ve been wondering when Kathy is taking another blogging break?
You clever reader.
You know how it goes. She writes like crazy for months, and then she accelerates and writes every day for a while, and then she announces a blogging break. Her last 11-day break occurred in December, so it’s been a long time…
She’s gently closing her blogging door and tiptoeing away. She’ll leave on a night light in case you want to read past stories–or look at past pictures–while she’s mostly off-line for a while. She won’t even be reading your blogs during her break. 😦
Thank you for your support during The Long Winter by the Shores of Silver Lake Lake Superior. (You Laura Ingalls Wilder fans caught the attempt at humor, right?) I have so appreciated your readership and comments during these long cold northern winter days and nights. You’ve helped make this heart feel even warmer than sitting by the wood stove with your support and connection.

P.S. Almost forgot to tell you! Even though haven’t been taking as many pictures as usual during the last year or so, I found enough photos to share a favorite from each month, starting back in January, 2012. Will leave you with more than a baker’s dozen of memories:
February, 2012. A quiet moment in Nicaragua. (Our nephew married there–an amazing trip to San Juan del Sur.)
March, 2012. Back in the Upper Peninsula the tomato cages lie still covered with snow.
April, 2012. By the end of April blossoms decorate our woods.
May, 2012. A circle of birch bark along the shores of Lake Superior.
June, 2012. Soft ambiance of an open clam shell.
July, 2012. Who could forget the hollering of neighbor’s guinea hens? Certainly not us!
August, 2012. Barry and I take a sunset cruise from Munising to see underwater shipwrecks and sandstone cliffs.
September, 2012. Our son, Chris, comes to visit and we hike along Lake Superior’s shorel

Was it as along ago as December? Seems like only yesterday. Have a nice break.
No! No! No! It seems like I just found you. I hope you really will return. I love your words and I love your pictures. Hurry back. You will be missed.

Kathy, I no sooner get back from my trip and off you go! I wanted to tell you I flew over your house last week. I am sure of it. On the leg from Minneapolis to Toronto, I happened to look out the window and I saw a big lake. Suddenly Superior Spirit came to mind and the blog you wrote of airlines flying over. Well, last Tuesday, I was on one of those planes. Did you see me waving to you?
Now I am playing catchup on all the blogs I missed while away. By the time I catch up, I hope you will be back. Enjoy your Spring–or end of winter… doesn’t seem much like spring does it?
