Kinder discovers the bathroom sink

Kinder in the sink

Kinder in the sink

Today I visited Linda at the Skanee Post Office and posted a Christmas package to my daughter in New York City.

In return, my daughter sent a picture of one of my grand-cats, Kinder, who recently discovered the bathroom sink.

(Oh, silly me, I think this happened in reverse order! The daughter sent the photo first, then I paid big bucks for the package, but who’s counting anyway?)

Coming to you Live from a VERY cold afternoon in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Trying to catch up with my Christmas chores. How are you doing with yours?

About Kathy

I live in the middle of the woods in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Next to Lake Superior's cold shores. I love to blog.

Ha! Cute pic. Yes, it is cold in the UP! My chores are coming along just fine. I wrapped up my Christmas shopping this week (pun intended). šŸ™‚

  2. Brenda Hardie says:

That’s a cute picture, Kathy šŸ™‚ A pretty black kitty all snuggled up in the sink. It’s a mild day here…finally a break from the frigid weather. Yayyy šŸ™‚ I sure hope you are warm and cozy up there in the northwoods ♄

  3. How cute (and very cat-like)! I think I’m doing okay on my Christmas prep work, though the tree that we cut off our own land is getting yellow already :(. At least my daughter pointed out that many pre-cut trees are sprayed and not really as green as they look… Stay warm!

  4. Aren’t cats great? I never had one who liked the bathroom sink. Mine likes the top shelf of my plant stand. Cold and snow-covered here in NW CT. Had lunch with a long-time and dear friend; we laughed about all the things that are depressing, to us. Lifted the sense of heaviness we’re both feeling from weather and Life.

  5. Carol says:

I got as far as bringing the box containing the tree into the house today. It’s still fairly early in the afternoon with a couple of hours of light left, so I may even make more progress. Do not hold your breath, however.

  6. Oh my goodness, KINDER is adorable!

I’m glad your day’s going well. Mine is too — I just got next week’s blog post ready in draft form.

  7. Love the cat photo. No Christmas chores anymore- I don’t “do Chriatmas for quite a few years and it is a huge relief for me. I will be giving my kiddos $ as usual. At this time of the year I am way down in the dumps

  8. Stacy says:

    Love the grand-cat, Kathy!

As for me, I diligently put my packages in the mail the day after Thanksgiving. Then one of them came back today as undeliverable!! Argh! ā¤

  9. Elisa says:

Kinder still looks like one of Dingles’ kitlets!! She has yet to like the sink..she will drink out of one of them if we let it drip.

  10. cute–Kinder would get along really well with our cat–he loves the bathtub!

  11. sybil says:

But the tap’s not running. My cat Clara lies in the sink. I turn the tap on slowly and she keeps lying there. Getting wetter and wetter …

  12. I am so dreadfully behind on all fronts — work, home, holiday, you name it! *sigh* Oh well, what better time to draw a hot bath on these bitterly cold nights and soak with a good book! I recently finished ‘Light Between Oceans” by M.L. Stedman. You are such a proud gram! (would you like to adopt another — who keeps knocking ornaments off the tree and knocking the tree skirt askew?!)

  13. Bonnie says:

Christmas chores are getting done slowly, but I am pretty sure I will be finished by January 30th. We had a cat once who loved to sleep in the sink. The first time I caught her in there, I laughed and laughed. I think that style of sink feels cozy to them.

  14. Ally Bean says:

I’m always a sucker for a cat in the sink photo. The absurdity of it makes me smile. As for Christmas chores, today I go to the UPS store and mail packages hither and yon. Considering how cold & icy it is outside, this is going to be a tedious, risky experience. But someone has to do it, don’t they? And we all know who that is!

  15. Heather says:

Kinder looks cozy. Are you sure the sink wasn’t made to size?

  16. Lori D says:

My dad’s cat does that too. I don’t get it. I’ve never had a cat that would even go in the bathroom, let alone near a sink. Yet, so many other people I know have cats that enjoy the sink.

  17. lisaspiral says:

I am so behind on the holidays this year I’m not sure if I’m coming or going. Maybe I’ll order in pizza. Have we gone past the date yet when shipping is guaranteed to arrive before Christmas?

  18. Karma says:

What is it about cats and sinks? I’ve owned several cats who seemed to think this was an okay place to hang out.
Christmas and I are getting caught up too. Just a few things left to do, and one more week of school before a well-deserved break!

  19. Joanne says:

Aww, Cutie Kinder. All cats seem to love sinks Kathy, but goodness know why, especially during your cold weather! šŸ™‚

  20. Reggie says:

Such a gorgeous cat… Is it my imagination, or has Kinder grown?! Will her name have to change to Teenager soon?

  21. Haha, how cute!! Bet Kinder won’t be so content if someone turns the faucet on! šŸ˜‰
And you don’t pay big bucks for a package until you send a 3-lb box of Christmas cookies overseas! Yikes!! (But it was SO worth it šŸ™‚ )

  22. Christmas chores…well….I’m reading blogs today instead of thinking about Christmas. You’ve reminded me I probably should finish my knitting!

  23. Cute picture! As a kitten, our Salem used to ‘nest’ in the bathroom sink, too! šŸ™‚

Thank you for reading. May you be blessed in your life...may you find joy in the simple things...
