Apples, bananas, mammogram & some Mooji

Apples, bananas and a mango too

It’s day 31 of this 75 day spiritual commitment. One month has passed already, days falling away like autumn leaves off poplar, oak and maple trees.

I am sitting here at the computer this morning aware of a silent background of Presence. It’s alive, palpable. It’s what we are.

Thank you for those who read and commented on the blog post yesterday. Something feels a bit vulnerable to have shared it here. But it felt like this story is the base, the foundation, of everything that ever appears on Lake Superior Spirit. A closed door opened. And once a door opens it’s impossible to see the world in exactly the same way, isn’t it?

Doorway

Yesterday involved lots of outward-facing activities again. Back to town, girlfriend! I’m still in the midst of annual physical tests–and we women know what that means. A mammogram, of course.

I love the x-ray tech so much. She graduated from high school with my daughter. Her mama worked at the local co-op with me back in the day. She radiates (*smile*) such loving maternal energy. I would entrust my ta-tas to her any day. We chatted up a storm as the machine whirred.

We really needed a few more groceries and Barry and I have been enjoying fruit lately. I stopped on the way home for apples, bananas and $60 worth of supplies. Hopefully we’ve enough to last a week or more now.

Can you feel the Presence behind these words? In between the sentences, the paragraphs? Can you feel your beating heart, your soft belly, those five-toed feet? Or are you lost in the words (like I often am) feeling the tug of story, the need to schedule your mammogram? Or is it both–the Presence and physical world–dancing together without stepping on each other’s feet?

The Universe apparently wanted me to listen to Mooji this morning. He’s a spiritual teacher from Jamaica-way, ya, mon. My personal self has mixed feelings about him, but every once in awhile I pause to drink in Presence with him. Would you like to pause as well?

Mooji-bath today. Very calming and refreshing, thank you Kathy

  2. dawnkinster says:

Thank you for sharing Mooji this morning.

  3. Robin says:

A little of all — presence, Presence, words, the reminder that I need to schedule a mammogram, that I need to get my eyes checked (because my glasses and eyes are not compatible anymore). Thank you for the Mooji-share. 🙂

    • Kathy says:

You are welcome for the Mooji-share, Robin. Smiling that you’ve described that it’s “all of it”. From the mammogram to thoughts to eyes to Presence and back around again.

  4. Ally Bean says:

I like Mooji. His idea that there is a difference between the “I am the person mode” and the being present in infinite space rings true with me. Plus his voice is soothing. Oh my. What a refreshing way to think about and live your life.

    • Kathy says:

His voice can just put a person into Presence so easily. It really is refreshing and revitalizing to live your life from this backdrop–when it’s possible.

I have been popping in and out of here. reading but not commenting even though I am sure I have a response or two.
I’ll come back when I am fully present to share…
    Great read today and yesterday!

    • Kathy says:

Jeff, you have more imminent things to think about–mostly the leak in your roof! Hope you get it fixed soon. And glad you are enjoying these offerings.

  6. Reggie says:

Oooh, you also listen to Mooji! 😀 He has such a lovely way of guiding you into Presence and Beingness. I love listening to his guided meditations. Hugs!

  7. Susan D. Durham says:

Thinking of you, and fruit, and Mooji, and ta-tas and, yes, at least for this moment, feeling Presence. For the first time over the past 2-3 days. So much going on again, still … reminders for tenants, etc. before our 3-week sorta-shutdown starts, and we hope and pray for the best. We’ve been so fortunate within our small community. May you be well, stay well and know you are loved well, dear friend.

  8. Amanda-Lyn says:

I look forward to your daily posts ♥ such great fun to read and always thought provoking

  9. I find that the nicest feelings of awareness come when we do mundane, every day things. There is something reassuring about it. I hope your tests are okay and that the fruit are super nice. You remind me that I am not eating as much fruit lately.

    • Kathy says:

Mundane everyday things are the best! When we remember to notice them through the light of the Holy… You probably have wonderful delicious fruit where you are!

  10. Good that you get your girls examined each year. I have never heard boobs called ta-tas. I first heard ta tas, called girls many years ago.
You can never eat too many apples which are said to be very healthy. I eat apples each day with Fuji being my favorite.

I’ve known of Mooji for some time . . . but paused this morning for him thanks to you, because why not ?

I can’t believe $60 worth of groceries gets you through the week. I consider $300+ a low figure but then I’ve two teenage boys and an active husband to feed and we do stay stocked up (more since experiencing pandemic shortages) because somewhat like you, it is quite a drive to the store. I remember in the early days with this husband, I could feed us on $30 but our eating wasn’t nearly as healthy then as it is now and there were fewer mouths to feed.

    • Kathy says:

Why not indeed? I was looking for a video about Presence the other week and tired to manifest one but it didn’t happen. Until this one just popped up! *smile*. No, no, no, $60 worth of groceries would not feed us for a week. We did our major grocery shopping in another bigger town earlier in the week. This $60 was just topping it off because apparently we didn’t buy enough.
